Groundbreaking Story!

In early November, 2023
Twelve people and one dog
Carried tiny trees…

Up White’s Creek Trail,
Three miles they hiked,
Packing shovels and water
To the planting site

Three hours later
They were digging holes
And the tiny trees were nestled
Into their forever homes

After a big drink of water
The crew walked away
Smiling at their tiny charges 
It’s a new birthday!

Twelve people and one dog
With sore feet and sore paws
Celebrated People-Powered-Stewardship 
And their hopeful cause

To restore what is lost
So much to be done
Saving Our Sierras 
They have just begun.
